Of 34 programs listed, 29 have income data; five show "no information" (Catholic U. of Temuco, Catholic U. of Maule, Las Américas, Playa Ancha and Finis Terrae). According to the methodology, the figure is the average gross monthly income of the 2018, 2019 and 2020 graduating classes in their fourth year, in September 2025 pesos, and only counts those earning above the minimum wage.

The University of Antofagasta stands out in the CLP 2.5 to 3 million bracket, alongside universities in Santiago and Valparaíso. Its case is linked to mining in the region: wages at mine sites and their suppliers are among the highest in the country. Context on the sector is in the drop in Escondida's output.

Industrial civil engineer or industrial engineer: the salary gap in Chile

Two degrees with similar names coexist in Chile. Industrial Civil Engineering formally lasts six years and grants the title of civil engineer, which the General Education Law (article 63) reserves for universities and which requires a prior bachelor's degree. Industrial Engineering, by contrast, groups shorter programs, such as the "ejecución" (applied) industrial engineering degrees, taught by universities and some professional institutes such as IACC. Their graduates usually take between 9 and 13 semesters. The difference shows in pay: the ceiling for Industrial Engineering (CLP 2 million) is below the average of many Industrial Civil Engineering programs.
