Shrek: never first, always there
Shrek entered the Chilean Top 10 in October 2021 and was still there in the first week of October 2026, in eighth place. It is not a continuous run: it leaves and comes back. It is the film families return to, which is why it racks up weeks without needing a release or a campaign.
The pattern repeats across the list: Sing, The Secret Life of Pets 2, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Shrek 2, Hotel Transylvania 3, Despicable Me 3. They are films children watch over and over. Almost all are animated; the clearest exceptions are the 2000 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which returns every December, and Sonic the Hedgehog, which mix live actors with animation.
KPop Demon Hunters, the special case
It is the exception in two ways.
