Four are movable, and in 2027 three of them shift to Mondays. Tourism non-working days
Article 7 of Law 27,399 allows the executive to declare up to three non-working days for tourism a year, which must be Mondays or Fridays. For 2025, for example, Decree 1027/2024 set May 2, August 15 and November 21. The 2027 decree has not yet been published.
- Holiday: mandatory rest. Anyone who works is paid double.
- Non-working day: the employer decides whether people work. If they do, it is paid as a normal day.
- In the public sector, non-working days are usually days off.
How much you are paid if you work a holiday
Under the Employment Contract Law, anyone who works a national holiday is paid double a normal day. On non-working days, pay is single. With the October 2026 minimum wage of 391,200 pesos a month, a full working day is worth about 15,648 pesos and a worked holiday about 31,296.

Argentina has more holidays than Mexico (public holidays in Mexico 2027) and a similar number to Peru (public holidays in Peru 2027) and Chile (public holidays in Chile 2027). To understand what traveling on those weekends costs, read inflation in Argentina year by year.
